a. PRICING SYSTEM IN TURKEY
The Prices of Pharmaceuticals in Turkey Is Determined Through Below Stages In Conformity With the “The Decision Respecting the Pricing of Human Medicine” (30.06.2007 and With Number of 2007/12325)
First of all, the cheapest selling price to wholesalers among the countries (France, Italy, Spain, Portugal and Greece) is determined as reference price for a specific medicine. Second, to this reference price, the rates of profit of wholesalers and community pharmacists are added. Third, the retail price for a specific medicine is determined after adding %8 VAT to the price in second stage.

d. REIMBURSEMENT IN TURKISH PHARMACEUTICAL SECTOR
- Reimbursement of the medical products is regulated by the Protocols between The Ministry of Finance, Social Security Institutions and Turkish Pharmacists’ Association.
- The Ministry of Finance declare their Codes and Regulation for reimbursement on a yearly basis.
- Community pharmacist signs seperate agreement with each Institution and renews the agreement every fiscal year.
- The duration of reimbursement is 60 days after delivery of the prescription to the Social Security Institution.
e. LEGAL CONDITIONS TO OPEN A COMMUNITY PHARMACY IN TURKEY
Those who
- are Turkish citizen
- are graduated from a Faculty of Pharmacy
- have a diploma authorized by Ministry of Health
- have not blindness in his/her eyes.
- have never committed an infamous crime
- have never sentenced to heavy imprisonment.
- have never fined over one year due to occupational crime or have never disqualified from occupational crime more than two times in five years can open a Pharmacy in Turkey.
The Pharmacists are the only competent professionals having right to provide pharmaceuticals, except veterinarians who have right to sell veterinary medicines in their offices.
In the Law 6197;
- The total area of a community pharmacy must be minimum 35 m2
- There is minimum regulation related with physical environment.
- There is no geographical restrain among community pharmacies
- There is no standard for demographical restrain.
- It is compulsory that a pharmacist must stay in his/her pharmacy
- The place, on which a pharmacy is to be established, is audited and affirmed by Regional Chamber of Pharmacy.
- he authorization of a community pharmacy is given by Governorship.
- The person planning to open a community pharmacy must be a member of Regional Chamber of Pharmacy.
